These sturdy aluminium lunch pails, have been made in Canada since their invention in 1956. Originally hand made by a miner who wanted a lunchbox sturdy enough to sit on whilst eating lunch on the job, their popularity soon spread. It quickly became a staple for all miners, some keeping their original examples from their first day of work, to retirement 30 years later!
